Physiotherapy can help both cats and dogs with a variety of problems such as spinal disease; joint problems including arthritis or after injury; soft tissue injuries to muscle, ligaments and tendons; post-surgical rehabilitation; neurological problems and performance issues. For post-surgical cases there is often a delay before starting hydrotherapy due to wound healing and the presence of sutures so by starting physiotherapy in the early stages following surgery, we can get such patients back to fitness again much more quickly.
Treatments will be decided following a full assessment including watching your animal move and palpation of the muscles and joints. A treatment plan will be designed specifically for your pet which may include massage, joint mobilisations, electrotherapy such as ultrasound or laser and an exercise regime.
Polly will always work with your vet and physiotherapy recommended by your vet may be covered by pet insurance.
If you would like to make an appointment to see Polly please contact Emma on 01235 766907.
